Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Ennis Traveler, let me be the first to tell you that you don't look ridiculous. You look like a whistler. :D Not a bad photo at all.

I think it's just that we don't look at ourselves so very often, especially not when we're doing something as intimate and revealing as playing whistle. (At least I don't.)

For contrast, just have someone take a picture of you eating. That's always worse. I've heard no one is allowed to photograph the queen eating.

Probably just as well...

Would you want to open your morning paper only to see such a photograph...please. :boggle:

-Paul had it right: Andrea Corr looks fetching rather than ridiculous when playing whistle, as she does doing nearly anything imaginable in my sedate, limited, non-scandalous and pc imagination. :D

I really don't know whether or not I look riduclous or not. I play for my friends every now and then, but they never mention that I look odd while I play, or perhaps they're watching for their own amusement at my expense. :P

Beauty is a function of action, like how a horse is more beautiful running, or how trees are more beautiful when their branches are swaying in the wind, or how a dancer is more beautiful when dancing. Unfortunately, photographs of things in action usually look worse than had they not been moving at all.

Why would you want to? I think this is the whistle variation on the very positive life lesson someone shared with me years ago - "If you don't make a complete a**h*** out of yourself at least once a day, you're doing something wrong".

I look absurd when I play mine!

I am often to be found practising in my car...(stationary of course) it's sometimes the only private place to be...but I must look pretty silly to drivers who pass...sitting behind the wheel with a whistle in my hand...sometimes a low D at that. The responses can be wuite amusing!!!!

To get that result I'd have to be using someone else's hands... :(

And yes, I look ridiculous - and not just because I play Feadogs...

And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
