Everybody hurts. REM
If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it's probably me - playing a whistle!

LOL!... nah, it's that Ben Kingsly wanna-be, Mahatma Ghandi... I'm rather fond of them both, though Ghandi arguably leads in my "hero poll"

For that matter, Anna Russell.

And Larry Nugent's "Cricket's March over the Salt Box." Sets things straight for me.

OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do love that tune! I may be forced to dig through my old (very old) LPs and find Surealistic Pillow just to hear that one....more....time....

Didn't it start- :-?

Lather was 30 years old today,
he put away all of his toys

farther along there was the buzzing sound.......

Durn, now the tune's playing in my head.

And eyes as gray as icicle fangs measure stranger
For size, honesty, and intent."

Pretty much anything by Rich Mullins, particularly "Hold Me Jesus", "The Love of God", "Hard to Get", and "Bound to Come Some Trouble".

When I just need to smile, "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller never fails.

I have some varied tastes in my music and have found a lot that has meaning; but on reflection, there are some songs that keep comming back over and over again.

CSN's Define the Cost of Freedom.
Dylan's The Times They are a Changin'
From the musical Godspell, By My Side.
The old lullaby, All Through the Night.
A tune written by our own CSkinner: Autumn Mountain Met.
Simon and Garfunkles, The Sound of Silence.
Lothlorien's, The Black Cat.
Beethoven's Fur Elise.
A number of Peter, Paul, and Mary songs such as. Day is Done, Don't Think Twice It's Alright. If I had wings, The Great Mandela, Blowin' in the Wind, King of Names, Hymn, The Talking Candy Bar Blues Song.
From ITM: The Red Haired Boy, Morrison's Jig, The Minstrel Boy, Leon's Waltz, Lord Mayo, The Foggy Dew, Culloden's Harvest.

I could probably add another 100 songs or tunes to this list.
All have restorative powers that are well practiced in my life.

My Music
I find moments,
playing or singing
whatever surfaces to mind.
In those moments the music
resolves the essentials within,
reducing the kaos that haunts
the under currents of my days.
Though listening may lighten the burden;
in the play,
the music merges
movement, thought, and feelling,
bringing with it a harmony
whereby weights are removed.
At the end of the repetoire,
quiet returns,
to ear,
to mind,
to heart,
for the harmony remains.

From that which remain, I every enjoin all to ...
Enjoy Your Music,
Lee Marsh

Another great source of smiles is "Jessica" by the Allman Brothers.
This is a guitar/piano instrumental and sunshine and smiles come pouring out of every note. A joy-check it out!
