I like Susatos--well designed, in tune,
good volume, low price.
I don't expect them
to sound like expensive whistles, of course.

I have been to the whistlestores
most respected by chiffandfipplers and myself and bought dud
inexpensive whistles there.

Michael, the Abell is a competitor
to the thin weasel, and better too,
IMHO. Best

Hey, Wendina:
Don't fret over Loren. I recognize the online persona he has adopted, and I'm convinced he's compensating for a feeling of not being respected. As you read his posts, think: "Short fat bald guy who has no luck with girls". It will all begin to make sense.
Tom.

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

I was speaking of the Loren that nobody sees. You could look like a film star on the outside, for all I know.

So Tom, just how long do you think it will take you to get that foot out of your mouth?

Ok, I'm weighing in:

Loren has been critical of HMT for a long time. Others have complained here. Wendy may be right--there may have been, basically, five, but they're entitled as long as they are being truthful and/or are expressing their geniune opinion and not engaging in personal attack. I do find it, at this point, seeming a bit vindicative to jump on HMT again because I would imagine that none of the HMT critics have had any recent experience ordering from HMT. So, I find it ill-mannered but, this is an old argument between Loren (and others) and myself which isn't going to be resolved. We'll have the blunt, ill-mannered group and then people like me with better manners and more proclivity to give people the benefit of the doubt. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Wendy is, of course, correct in asserting that no retail store can inspect and weed-out the "klunkers." That's an unreasonable demand. I don't really know ANYBODY who can be expected to go through a box of cheap whistles in their store, pick out the good ones, and send the ones back that aren't up to snuff. Remember, people on this board are whistle FREAKS. Fanatics. Un-well people. (I include myself as Whistle Freak Proto-Exemplar). They can manage to find fault in a cheap whistle which someone else might pick up and have a perfectly good time with for 7 or 8 bucks.

If I didn't have better manners, I might suggest that you guys just shut up and give it a rest.

Dale

Wow, and I thought I was being more well mannered by refusing to take the bait and argue with Wendy (and Tom) - even though she attacked me personally with the comment about my integrity, as did Tom (attack me personally).

There's just no pleasing you Dale.

Who ends up with the LPW's? Children, beginning players, people who are buying gifts for others, people who are just curious to try a new cheap instrument, people who order in bulk for their students, people who are not as discerning as you, mail order customers who just want an assortment of cheap whistles and don't request that they be vetted by our experts...

Got a problem with that?
Maybe you should include/////////////BRK.

I think that original remark was over the line and I don't feel differently about that based on your personal experience.

I think you are completely wrong on this and regret that I can no longer remain on this forum when such censorship as this is taking place.Goodbye.
