Since you make it so exclusive, it would be my green top Gen D.

I know the question says "only one," but I'm gonna cheat and say one cheapie--Gen green top (folk whistle), one expensive--Burke Al-Pro (both in D). Both have their place.

I've stopped reccommending the Oak to other people because of the reported lip-tingling problems, but it's still my favorite whistle of those I own. I hope to have a Sindt and a Burke al-pro to campare it with soon, however, and I may change my tune, er, whistle.

clarke.. no question..

in my humble opinion, if clarke made a louder version, there wouldn't be much competition

Cramer,

the clarke can be made louder by enlarging the holes. I did this to my D, retuning and enlarging at the same time, the result =
a whistle that is louder + better intonated

I really wish Clarke could make their whistles seriously, then we certainly would have some killer instruments for very small $.
