Just a pic of my four day old son David holding the whistle he likes hearing me play the most, or at least the one he doesn't cry about hearing, a Hoover brass D. Image

Do you have any low whistles? There were times in the first few months when my baby was inconsolable, and I played her to sleep with low whistles. At least I like to think so.

BTW, great pic and congratulations!

Oh how precious! And I'll bet Mr. Hoover will be delighted to hear that his whistle goes over well with this little one!

Welcome to the world, little David! Perhaps a harp would be more to your liking?

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Congratulations, Scott... My 7 year old daughter, Sarah, keeps her Hoover whitecap high D in the back seat of the car, and plays it a lot. She and Mack converse by e-mail. I really love the whistle community.
Best.

Scott,
"Of all the things that I have lost I miss my mind the most..."
With 4 day old?
I'm sure David will make sure
that of all the things you've lost,
you'll miss
sleep the most.

Remember in a few months they do start to sleep all night.

Cool picture and congratulations.

I agree with Energy, the Hoover looks huge on him...newborns are so small it makes the regular Hoover look like a low D almost!

Actually, little David is number six for me and my wife. Our oldest won't be ten until December, hence my signature. But, of all the people I know, IMO they are the finest. I don't mind surrendering any whistles to any of them, just as long as they use them for something resembling music and not as things to hit each other with. Ain't kids great!

Kids are wonderful. For only 4 days old, David sure looks alert and happy. Neither of my kids was so photogenic at 4 days. Of course, they are both beautiful, now. I'd love to have a half dozen of them.

Thank you for that picture. What a nice way for me to start the day.

SIX under 10! Yep, a full nights sleep is just a dream, of the mind that was lost long ago. If your mind returns then it'll be sleep. I hear, as a father of 2 and step-father of 3 more, that when the youngest turns 18 the mind returns.

However, my youngest turned 18 last march, haven't seen hide nor hair of my mind returning. Yes, yes, okay, the hair isn't comming back EVER, but I thought my sanity would have returned by now.

Congratulations for David, may he come to share how much you ...

Dear Dale,

My wife and I have three lovely daughters. One plays the whistle, one makes great guacamole. Where did we go wrong with the other one?

Yours,

Distraught.
