If the money is right, I'll sing it again.

Don't forget "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen."
It's hard to get more done-to-death then to be played from the PA system of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

danny boy is the only itm song i know. i say let's keep it. one day i am going to walk into a session (even though i've never even seen one) and that's going to be the song that i join in. then right away, i'm going to start stairway to heaven on my pennywhistle and a guitar player is going to walk by the session and who knows what is going to happen next.

I'm gonna try that in our local music store. It's one way to find out what they think of 'Danny Boy'. And whistles, in general, probably. And my playing, for certain!
Will there be a 'Paddy Wagon'? What's the usual bail for a banned-ballad violation? Is there a 'three-strikes' provision before you do hard time in the Gaol?

It's only old if you've heard it too many times. There's not much Irish music played in Burkburnett, TX; the last time I heard "Danny Boy" was when I saw the movie "Memphis Belle" and Harry Connick Jr. did a neat version while ragging on the piano. I love "Stairway to Heaven" but only listen to it occaisonally. "Wild Irish Rose" is one our Sunday night playlist and I enjoy playing it whenever it comes up in the rotation. "I'll Take You Home Kathleen" is a bit sappy for my taste. Maybe the key to not growing tired of a particular tune is to pace ourselves.
The Walrus
What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?
The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

This year I learned it and recorded it on the anniversary of his passing.dfernandez77 wrote:No can do.
My dear departed father used to sing "Danny Boy" to me.

It's my opinion - highly regarded (and sometimes not) by me. Peace y'all.

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

The concert band I play in is doing a piece called Gaelic Rhapsody, and it starts with Danny Boy. It doesn't call for whistle, but I asked if I could play allong. It's in Bb. No one can hear me with all the flutes and clarinets bleating away. It's probably for the best.

You'll be in ours? You'll also get redirected back into the fold at an early opportunity, but it will be fun while it lasts...mutepointe wrote:danny boy is the only itm song i know. i say let's keep it. one day i am going to walk into a session (even though i've never even seen one) and that's going to be the song that i join in. then right away, i'm going to start stairway to heaven on my pennywhistle and a guitar player is going to walk by the session and who knows what is going to happen next.
