Okay - I'm in for ten. Two reasons:

First, Dale deserves it. Anyone who doesn't know why hasn't been paying attention.

Second, I'm a little twisted and I like the idea of Dale being abashed at having made a joke that is now both backfiring and paying off.

I too like the idea of the "positive embarrassment" of a most deserving subject.

I hardly ever post in this forum but whistling means a lot to me and this is always my first source for information. I'm good for $10.

OK-- it looks like we'll have no trouble doing this thing. I have written to the seller asking him to hold the whistle for us. A couple of people have asked me to coordinate the funds, and I'll be glad to do it. Once I know for sure that the whistle is going to us, I will let everyone know, and you can send payment to me via PayPal. Please make those payments for $10.60, to cover the PayPal charges.
In the event that we raise too much money, I will add ALL additional funds plus the bit left over from everyone's $.60 PayPal fee to the Hurricane Katrina funds I raised with my whistle auction. As soon as the Katrina check comes and this whistle purchase is complete, I will make the Katrina donation and hopefully double it with matching funds.
For those that didn't feel they could afford to bid on the whistle, this would be a nice way to make a much smaller (but much welcomed) donation while helping recognize a really special person.

PLEASE-- don't send any funds yet. When I hear from the seller of the whistle, I will let you know.

Couldn't happpen to a nicer fella. :D

Count me in.

Now Dale, when this whistle arrives at your door we don't want you to go off and donate it to some home for down-and-out whistlers. It's a gift of the heart from your family. You have to keep those. :)

And when your tooting a tune you can think of all the folks whose lives you've blessed by introducing us to the wonderful world of whistling and IrTrad music.

Long live the Undisputed! The world's first and foremost eWhistler.
