1) Foyst, NorCal keeps bragging about his knnnigget recorder-maker whistle as if it was the Grail
2) When we already have several Grails, and everyone knows the only Grail authentique is a three-piece low ouissel by Yvon Le Coant
3) Then I get severely taunted by this NNNNNNicket who smells of boysenberries
Zat doez it.
Fetchez la vache!

- Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.
Nah, the appropriate response would be:Steven wrote:Zub, I believe the correct response to that picture is ooh la la?

(mmmm, boysenberries....)
Talk about looking like a recorder!!!!!!

- Tell us something.: I love Irish music! I am mostly a whistle player but would like to learn more about flutes. I also have a couple older whistles I'd like to sell and maybe pick up a bamboo flute to practice with.

Hee-hee. Remember it's a Low D.emmline wrote:That is a beautiful ouissel Zoob...but I think M. le Coant must have drilled holes 3 and 6 after the neighborhood wine tasting. Or perhaps he has some unusually short fingers.
The offset holes did disturb me at first, for I had to adjust my piper's grip.
However, this makes it unusually easy to play with the fingertips.
I like ouisselz to have a full, round, bottom end.SirNick wrote:(...) it's developed "love handles" around the middle.
This mentioned before some kinky Swiss beats me to it...
Once you hit Milky Way, ask the natives in the suburbs for Sol system. Spot the third planet, Sol-3, the blue one orbiting zigzag with its ridiculously overweight white satellite. My home.Montana wrote:By the way, Zoob, where's Sol-3? Are there two other suns I don't know about?
Among the living things, spot the vertical bipedes who breathe through a multi-holed proboscis schnorkel thing i.e. Homo fipplens. My genus.

You're killing me with those pictures! The Bleazey Low D and the Casey Burns Flute are both on my short list of things to spend my childrens college money on. How do you like the wooden Low D?
Chiff Fipple,
Very cool indeed! How many fipple designs are there!?
Fipple Art is fun

- Tell us something.: I've been with Chiff and Fipple since shortly after I bought my first low D. I've learned loads from this community, and I intend to continue to learn and contribute. Many thanks to Dale and everyone who makes this site happen.

well, current whistles (as I remember them) are -
d': Rose, Copeland brass, Silkstone aluminium, Silkstone 7-hole delrin, Alba, Parkhurst copper, Susato and a couple of 30+-year old Generations.
c': Alba, Copeland nickel, 30+-year old Generation, Susato
Bb: Alba, ancient Generation, Susato
A: 30-year old Overton (2), Alba tuneable
G: Alba
F: Grinter cocobolo
D: Alba
At home I play the Rose more than anything else, though recently I've enjoyed the 7-hole Silkstone. The Grinter is a recent addition, too.
On stage (with Atlantic Bridge), it's either the Rose with a headset mike (AKG) or the Copelands, though I sometimes use the low G and D Albas too. I play a lot of Mandolin on stage as well.
Flutes etc.:
Tony Dixon Delrin flute, and 3-4 Chinese bamboo flutes, plus a couple of Chinese bamboo whistles (mu di), and a 20-year-old Yamaha alto recorder.
and then guitars:
L'Arrivee D09, Baby Taylor, Tacoma Big Chief electro-acoustic.
and also
Tacoma Mandolin, Burgin Octave Mandolin, Blue Lion 6-string lap dulcimer.
(And in New Zealand recently I met a maker of astonishingly odd and very beautiful mandolins: we discussed a solid-body 5-string electric resonator mandola, thoug I don't think we should go into that here .
