LOLLY ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF HER FIRST CD

Post by lollycross »

(with Rick's permission)
Hi all,
I have just released my first CD. Its called The PENNY WHISTLER.
It is American-style (grandma-type) playing of Celtic tunes on
whistles, violin and alto recorder, with light percussion.
It has gentle harmonies and cute melodies that the whole family
will love.
I am joined by fellow C&Fer Karina Kruth on Violin and Low D Whistle.
Its dedicated to my granddaughter and to all grandparents, parents
& their children everywhere.
This means IT IS NOT ITRAD!!
So, who may like it?
1. Other grandparents and parents to get their children listening to
simple Celtic music.
2. New players who want to play along with easy tunes.
3. Folks who love Celtic but need a relaxing cd, rather than a rousting
"session" one:
SO PLEASE LISTEN AND BUY IT HERE:
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lollycross
Thanks all,
Lolly in Reno

Delightful!

I like it.

Lolly, I don't suppose you'd take payment in whistles?

But I will sit and hearken, and be glad that through you great beauty has been wakened into song.

I'd never heard the tune Maid from the Parish of Penderyn. It's lovely. Wonderful, Lolly.

For those who asked:
I played a Silkstone PVC D from Paul Hayward in York, England,
on most of the tunes.
Thanks, Lolly

Really lovely! The harmonies are particularly wonderful (something I often miss in Itrad). I want one!

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Very clean and assured playing, Lolly. I enjoyed Pigeon on the Gate very much.

All the best to you Lolly,

I have listened to the whole CD now on CD Baby and I think it's great! I have ordered it and I am now anxiously waiting for my very own copy to arrive! :D

Best Wishes to a fellow C&Fer!

Cheers,
Kathy :)

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Lolly:

I have received my copy by mail, and have been listening to it on a lot of different playback systems, ranging from the studio Tannoys, through car speakers, to British LS3/5A's in my home system.

Nice Job, Lolly. I understand you did all the recording yourself, on your digital audio workstation... There is no harshness to the sound, and the EQ and effects are tastefully done.

It will be a joy to all the children, parents, and grandparents who are fortunate enough to hear it.

Best to you, Lolly.
