A big thanks to ChattyKathy, who assisted me in uploading my Avatar image-The ancient and noble flag of the Kingdom of Northumbria. This flag is mentioned in the 7th century writings of the 'venerable' Bede, who has been described as 'The Father of English History'.As I said to Kathy,NO,I'm NOT old enough to have known Bede personally!

My avatar is a close-up of the custom soundhole rosette of my hammered dulcimer, a James Jones 3/16/18/9 with redwood soundboard and paduak bridges, built in 2002. The birch leaf design is from a tracing of a leaf that fell from a tree that grows next to my house. The whistle is a Feadog D.
I'd like to thank my 12-year-old son for technical assistance in taking this photo. I don't have a digital camera, but he used part of the Vision Command system in his Lego Robotics set to take the picture for me.
