That the message board itself is getting close to passing the 100,000 post mark?

I want to watch the race, and see how many spurious threads and responses as people try to claim the "100,000th post" on the board. :roll

This should be somewhere around #99848 or so, if anyone wants a reference.

And, by an odd coincidence, I just noticed that the flute forum has almost exactly 10% of the posts of the whistle forum. Gee, I wonder which forum will claim the 100,000th post prize? (Or am I just egging on yet another rivalry...?)

OK, why does my view of the board only show 82,704 posts (and 8299 on the flute forum)? Is Aodhan sniffing fumes, or am I? (Gee, I better get outa this building and go home!)

Quite possibly, but go to the forum index and look at the total posts for the entire board itself, not just this forum. That's what I was referring to...

So is there actually any way of telling who is the offical poster of that 100,000th post when it happens?
'I wish it need not have happend in my time,' said Frodo.
'So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.'

It will definitely happen tonight.

Speaking of noticing things, we have almost 2,000 registered people, too.

I don't think so from the board side, but if we persuade rich to go in and look at the actual database with phpMyAdmin or something similar, he can see the raw data.

Although this isn't the kind of thing I get excited about, I might as well do my part.

OK, there's 16 ... Oops, I mean 15 more to go.

Best wishes,
Jerry

Actually, you could probably tell who posted the 100,000th message by following the "last posted" column on the Forum Index page, refreshing it every minute or so and seeing which forum has a name change in that column at the time it rolls over from 99,999 to 100,000.

Now there's 13 more to go.
