Hello hathair,
I've just begun making Guido's Low tech whistles (for my own amusement) and I've been able to get the materials at Lowe's. In fact, 3/4" CPVC produces a very nice Low D. I've also read that electrical conduit is good, but haven't tried that yet. It's also at Lowe's.
I don't have a Home Depot in my (very small) town, but I'm sure they have PVC, CPVC and electrical conduit, as does Ace Hardware.

Home Depot is a good place to buy cpvc. They store it in a rack standing on end. If you buy cpvc from a hardware store that stores it on its side,hathair_bláth wrote:On a side note, does anyone know if you can get the CPVC at Lowes or Home Depot?
it will have a lot of scratches and dings in it.

I think you're onto something there Daniel!Daniel_Bingamon wrote:I was thinking, since no. 6 is Mac Operating system - I thought no. 8 would be Windows
In my haste to get the rubbing from the cave-wall, I omited #17 which goes before the pointy end - #17 Guinness. Some say it should actually go before #16 and I tend to agree.
The main thing about #17 is that it affects #8 such that sparks come out of my 101 keyboard whenever I play too close. I'm sure that if it were a Mac keyboard there'd be puffs of green steam and leprechauns.
