I've Got the Davy Spillane Low D

Post by Bloomfield »

Yes! It's true. I ordered the whistle from Davy Spillane in Liscannor. Everything went smoothly. It was delivered a few days a go.

I've got a Davy Spillane Low D!

Well, to be totally honest, I don't quite have the whistle yet. You see, I didn't have it shipped to me, but to a contact in Europe. It's a long story (not really, but that always sounds good). But the whistle has arrived. I am having the whistle sent to another friend, and he will send me pictures. I will soon get the pictures and will share them right here on Chiff & Fipple. This is the real thing, Dale knows all about it.

Very exciting stuff. I'll post said pictures, a review, and a sound clip as soon as I may. Stay tuned. I'm feeling 30 years younger, my palms are moist. Oh, boy.

Best,
Bloomfield

Well I never - ah...

Happy April 1st, Bloomie...
And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

Actually, i am Bloomfield. But the whistle got sent to my Aunt Perla, who lives in Argentina, due to a simple clerical error.

I would have a hard time believing this story posted any normal day of the week.

Seeing how it's April 1....I dunno...

I have it from a good source that Davy plays a Waltons Low whistle with a Generation green top. As a spare he plays a Generation Low whistle with a Waltons black top...

Bloomfield....I want to see the pictures when you have the whistle. This whistle you speak of is becoming more like a urban myth  Just like the whistles described above

Neat! Oh, and guess what? Not to brag or anything, but I just won the All-Ireland harmonizing competition! I'm speechless!

I just saw line where you indicate your palms are moist.....bit of advice, keep them in the sunlight or mold will begin to grow before you get the Spillane.....

Oh you peasants. Where is your faith? How dare you question such a well known authority who had just completed his 5,000th Post.

Wow, a double score in one post!
