It's not as if there were protections against ballot-box stuffing. There are, unless you come along and register a bunch of new accounts with unique but working email addresses. There hasn't been a rash of account creation in the last few days (we average about five a day, and it's been just below ...

Would advocate having a separate whistle forum, just like the flute & stepped-on cat forums. At one point in time, that's what this <i>was</i>! Would it be possible to combine the two forums if the experiment fails after a month or three? We wouldn't want to lose any OT threads... Yep, definite...

Re: Thread.

I thought that sweet used synthetic "yarn" to wrap his joints. I seem to remember reading (on his website?) that natural fibers should be avoided because of the chance that it may be affected by moisture. I would think that Mr. Sweet would best person to ask. My Sweet flute's in rough sha...

The [ code] tag gives you a fixed-width font suitable for computer code -- probably not used that much here: for my $file (keys %caches) { my $url = $rooturl . $caches{$file}; my $now = time(); getstore($url, $file); # warn "$file: ", time()-$now, " s\n"; chmod(0664, $file); } Fo...

phpbb Sanity/Santy worm

You may have heard about the new <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4117711.stm">phpbb worm</a> that's making the rounds. (Here's a more <a href="http://isc.sans.org/diary.php?date=2004-12-21">technical writeup</a> if you're so inclined). We're running phpbb here on t...

Re: JessieD...

Taken it? I don't believe chiffboard user names are supposed to be like, say, internet domain names, where you can just reserve the ones you think you'd like to possibly use one day. Yes, please don't do that. (In fact, due to a long history of people doing so to cause trouble, using multiple accou...

If you're logged in, then the Image icon should take you to the first post in the thread which you have not seen.
