Re: Tiny white spot on aluminum whistles (metal care in general)
That sort of corrosion of aluminium can be a real problem for some players! Either from breath or fingers, probably different reactions involved but the same result. You'd be surprised at the extent of the corrosion on some whistles I have seen. In an ideal world, I would anodize all the whistles I ...

Re: Whistle Makers?
I thought I'd post a pic of these puppies before they get sent back to Caryn for some road testing. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk103/synwhistles/temperedwhistles.jpg The pic doesn't do justice to the way that light plays with the grain and changes as they turn, especially on the curly one. Re: Tuning Whistles
What's the thing to do? Which note should I tune the instrument to? Or should I just find a 'happy medium' and leave it at that? For myself, I look to get the middle of the range in tune ie. g to g'. It varies from whistle to whistle, but usually that means using the middle d as your reference, but...

Re: Correcting Sharp C#
Try tuning the whistle to the C# rather than the D (seriously) and see how the rest of the scale falls then.

Re: C.P. workshop cleanup
Sorry if that wasn't clear. I have some high D whistles for sale, the one shown on Ebay sets the example, the rest are in the same style and the descriptions correspond. I also have some Low D whistles for sale, the one on Ebay is an example, the others vary slightly in having red bodies rather than...

Re: Is leaving a whistle disassembled for a long period alright?
For brass on brass at least, the best option is to pull apart and give a light coating of vasoline on both surfaces. I do regularly coat the slides with petroleum jelly from time to time. Are you saying that before I leave the country I should pull them apart then coat them in vasoline right before...

C.P. workshop cleanup
I'm putting a few items on Ebay as part of a cleanup of the workshop. There are some high whistles that I have been playing with but am unlikely to pursue further as a commercial venture as well as a couple of low whistles that have some minor cosmetic flaws. Here are the links to the first couple h...
