Forbes Christie Flutes at Irish Arts Week

Anyone get a chance to try Forbes Christie instruments at Irish Arts in the Catskills? I understand he was to be there with several flutes for sale. It would be great to have a firsthand report. Thanks!

James Keane's New Castignari

Curious to know if anyone owns one of James' new signature models. Sounded great on You Tube!
Thanks.

Great CD

Just wanted to put in a good word for a really nice trad CD. Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. By Chulrua, (Pat Egan, Paddy, O'Brien and Patrick Ourceau) it's been out since 2007 but came in under the radar from Shanachie. "The Singing Kettle" feautures fiddle, box, guitar and...

Prayers assured

Almost lost our farm after a spot of bad health in the family. Our sovereign Lord provided a means never expected.

My heart and prayers are with you.

Rieu redux

Don't mean to be the penultimate pedant, Il Friscaletto, but Andre Rieu is Dutch, not German. Not sure how this affects his flute-life (or anyone else's) but the old boy an sure play a mean fiddle!

Gallagher retune

Hi, Spittle!
Wise recommendation, thanks!
Do you have a Pratten or a Rudal style from John?
Brilliant maker.

WANTED TO BUY/TRADE: Short Scale Irish Tenor Banjo

Wanted to buy: short scale 17 fret tenor in good condition tuned GDAE. Play Irish music exclusively and find the stretch a bit difficult. Willing to make purchase outright or trade beautiful Kay 19 fret tenor with Les Paul finish in mint condition. Any Gold Tones or Deerings gathering dust out there?

FS:E.R.Pfretschner Violin

German made Strad copy from Mittenwald 1988, set up and orignially sold by Roth. Has model and serial number. New Pirastro strings and bridge. A few dents and dings in the finish but all superficial. This would make a great fiddle for sessions - bright and clear tone - or a good backup instrument. A...

FS/ Full set by Geoff Wooff in D - SOLD - Thanks to all

Sadly, must offer for sale my beloved full set by Geoff Wooff. It is a narrow bore blackwood set with boxwood mounts, keyed chanter with stop key, great bellows, all reeds in good working order, unaltered in any way, just as I received it from the maker. No case. Regrettably, I am somewhat low-tech ...
