Ode to Joy on alto recorder

I only started playing last year and this is from October. I started recorder with a soprano but I liked the sound of the bigger instruments I was hearing on youtube. So I got myself a Aulos 211 Tenor. Its a beast and needs quite a stretch to play well, but the sound is fantastic. In the right hands...

Re: Posting recordings/videos

It would depend on content. Let's say you are playing Mary Had a Little Lamb on fiddle. Because of the instrument, you could post the recording in the Trad Strings Forum, but obviously Mary Had a Little Lamb itself is no fit for the ITM Forum. The same tune on recorder should go in the World/Folk W...

Re: Photo of your string instrument

A photo from a few years back of my guitar family. The strat on the left I gave to a friend and I've since added a mandolin and a ukulele. The little guitar on the right is the kids' JHS Palma 1/2 size which Ive tuned to guitarlele tuning http://img00.deviantart.net/78ca/i/2012/222/e/9/my_guitar_fam...

Re: Photos of your collection!

And here is my only whistle. Pathetic I know. And technically its a toy, made by Schylling. I need a decent one but I seriously lack funds and its a minefield out there! https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffjs81ose9xkpzu/14935926030592045966131.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffjs81ose9xkpzu/149359260305920459...

Re: When to switch to clarinet?

I would really love a clarinet and having learned the basics on recorders I feel I would have less of a learning curve. Trouble is the cost. Way out of my price bracket, and tho quite a few second hand claris turn up I am very wary as I realise they may well need some work doing to them to make them...
