FS: Thomas Fehr Baroque Flute

Up for sale is a Thomas Fehr Baroque flute. It is a J. F. Englehard copy in cocobolo that plays at A=440. I've never been able to find out much about Englehard except that he's a little later along the Baroque timeline than Rottenburgh. The flute plays very nicely at A=440 with very good intonation ...

Re: Issue with eBay

With a little more digging I found that eBay does not show listings across international eBay sites unless the seller opts for the "International Site Visibility" fee. You can see this, as well as eBay's many other fees, at:

Re: Issue with eBay

I believe the issue here is that searches on eBay go through their "best match" filter. You can get more information about it here. http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/searchstanding.html I think the listing you mentioned got dinged because: -The listing says, "May not ship to United Stat...

Re: Can anyone in the world help me find this tune?

When I listened to the tune you played I thought immediately of Jay Ungar's "Lover's Waltz." If this isn't it, it's pretty close, and a very lovely tune for sure.

I'll add the suggestion of Flook's "The Gentle Giant" from their "Flatfish" cd.

Patrick, as part of the deal does Blayne get the blue sofa cushion (?) with the purple and orange flowers that has been the background for your photos? :D

Re: The Christmas Confessional

Die Hard 1&2 are also considered Christmas movies because of the time they were set in. Some comedian once remarked that he liked to watch "Die Hard" backwards. He said that, watched that way, it becomes a movie about how a bunch of terrorists remodel an office building just in time f...

Re: Looking for small quantity rubber rod stock

Sorry to chime in a little late on this one, but this might be of interest. http://polytechinnovations.com/Urethane_Rod.html You have several choices for hardness. If your standard is an auto tire then either a 60 or 80 might work for you. Below are some examples from Wikipedia. The fuller explanati...

Re: Dr. Who Quiz

Well, I know full well that my personality modulates, so for today apparently I'm a Dalek. I despise Daleks in principle because the concept is totally lame. Who would want to be one? They're peevish, have peevish voices to match, are limited to a clumsy toilet plunger appendage, and their momma dr...

Re: Words we love

I like Lugubrious. Yes, it even sounds of blubbering. It has the fatal drawback of needing a particular audience that won't think less of you for saying it, though. A fellow in his cups last night was indeed lugubrious, but in telling the story afterward I knew that present company meant I would do...

Happy Birthday, Car!

I was going through some file folders last week and discovered that today was a milestone. I purchased my car on October 28, 1973, so we have now been a team for 40 years. It's a 1971 Saab 96 that I purchased used. When I bought it, it had 21,000 miles on it. It recently passed the 390,000 mile mark...
