Re: its not an off the shelf tube
The body is a custom conical shape and thickness of aviation grade prepreg carbon fiber, you will not find anywhere else in the world. No offense intended here, I'm quite excited at what you're making but... All the tech talk in the world means nothing to a player :) People buy instruments for soun...

Robgandara, You should send a whistle out on tour to get some reviews posted ;) Or at least find one of the reputable whistle reviewers here and contact them about a review whistle. I bet a lot of people would be more interested if there was some pro buzz to read about your product. I know I'd be mo...

clay whistles by Cloud McCleod
So, I had a performance down at the Texas Renaissance Festival this weekend with my group and between shows I went a rovin as I tend to do. I ran across Erik The Flute Makers shop and a neat little find. There's a fellow there named Cloud McCleod that makes Ocarinas and Flutes out of clay... he also...

Nerd question EADGBE- where are these strings notes on a staff??? Anyone have a picture? http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/4665/94029243ax0.gif With that out of the way ;) This forum is pretty slow for strings in general. If you wanna talk strings I'd recommend mandolincafe.com It's still not real...

Rocky Road To Dublin. I know the true whistle part doesn't follow the actual lyrical melody and for the life of me I'm having a hell of a time picking out the melody. I've got the sheet music in front of me from thesession.org, does anyone happen to know where a decent recording or video of JUST the...

Re: strong bottom end on a high D.
I've been debating a SYN set for a while now, I just hear conflicting reports on the volume which is the only reason I was kicking it around. That and budget but hopefully budget will be loosened by christmas so I can ask my wife to let me buy myself a set for christmas ;) I recently ordered an Octa...

I'll simplify ;) The have to push for the second octave means you have to push to hit it, it doesn't jump up there on its own real easy (i.e. it has a strong bottom end), what I mean by breath gymnastics is that between notes I don't want to have to constantly change air pressure (outside the expect...
