Re: Death of a website (WhistleThis)
All I know is that they have been doing the Sailor's Wife for more than two years. That always made me feel bad for the sailor.   :D  I came to the site as a beginner (which i still am) right as it was in its decline. (i think two or three songs from the end). I can't say that...

Re: The Kilfenora Jig mp3 - wav- wma
Meanwhile, here's the tune I consider the *real* Kilfenora Jig, not to confuse with the Old Kilfenora. (Second tune is the Luck Penny, another jewel of a tune  ) Thanks for this, nice tunes those :) I think this is the same tune on Danu's "When all is said and done" album, under the...

Hello all, Looking for a bit of advice. I started playing tin whistle about a year and a half ago, and for the first six months or so, 0xx000 was my method for playing c natural. I then purchased a Sindt D, and struggled then with the 0xx000 c natural problems that those whistles often have, and aft...

Re: The Lochlan - A New Voice in Low Whistles
So in your opinion is it on par with the higher end D's, the circa 300-400 dollar ones,(i.e. copelands, burkes, overtons, MK) or more like an excellent mid-priced 100-200 ones. I guess that begs the question of "better" and "More expensive" being synonyms, but what i mean is, is...

For me, so far in this year and a half of whistle experience, it's been Cormac Breatnach. I just can't stop listening to him and have learned about half of the Music for whistle and guitar already. I can foresee a time when i'll just put the album on and play along with the whole thing (once i get t...
