McNeela African Blackwood Flute - SOLD
McNeela flute - very little playing time, maybe less than an hour. I bought it as a cheaper flute for travel, just before Covid....so no traveling and I've ended up amassing even more. Here is what McNeela says on his website: Designed to a modified version of Pratten’s Perfected flute by Boosey &am...

Re: Adding Holes
Yes...I agree with all you say.
Jon Cornia said he would do the work (he does fantastic flute work), but I would need to supply hole location...difficult as he is in CA and I am in Louisville. Which may be the direction I end up taking.
Thanks

Re: Adding Holes
Thanks for replies: I have reached out to Skip...he was quick to respond with options...I replied within a day...and crickets. I reached out to him again and...crickets. I have had similar past experience with Skip when he was still in RI....were he to respond, that would be my first choice....howev...

Adding Holes
I have a Skip Healey 6 hole flute, as well as one of his 8 hole fifes. I like having the extra holes: 'C' and 'Eb'... I'd like to find someone who able to add the 'C' and 'Eb' holes to the flute. Obviously, exact placement and hole cutting is paramount, which makes me less confident of a carpenter a...

Play what you know they say....though I love Irish music, it's not something I grew up with and I don't have a good memory for tunes....I'm going back to the music of my people; Jazz, swing and the Great American Songbook...now that music I know (to be fair, I get paid decent money to play it, as we...

A Tale of Three Piccolos
I happen to like the piccolo....I think it goes back to marching band (in my youth, in college, I got $50 for marching in local parades with a community band every Sunday). Marching with a piccolo seemed the best choice for instrument to carry 2 miles in heat and humidity (certainly better choice th...

Re: Miller Browne/Miller Wickes 6 key piccolos?
Judging the age, probably too late to contribute...if a lister posts in a forest and no one is around to read, does it make a sound? I happen to have a Miller Wickes 6 key Bflat piccolo. Grenadilla wood, with keys placed as on larger (and smaller) cousins. When I purchased it, I was interested in th...

Hammy keyless piccolo in D in great condition. Blackwood with silver rings...comes in (what I suspect is) custom Northwinds case. Case in also excellent condition. No cracks or other faults; plays great...I'm selling as I don't play it much, preferring my London Improved 6 key piccolo. Asking $600.....

FS: Flutes - Murray keyless, Doyle 2-key
Two for sale: A Sam Murray keyless and a Doyle two key (keys of F and G# made by Louis Jourdan). Both in excellent condition; The Murray comes with a very cool Northwinds case with Altieri case cover. The Doyle in the original leather case made by Martin. I've enjoyed playing traditional Irish flute...
