Thanks everyone for the love and support. It has been hard but I have been trying to get through all of this with whistle and knitting therapy. Its been a bit weird getting adjusted to living alone, although I really really like my place, I feel like I have my own unique little home (although it is ...

long time, no post

Hey all, well I guess I have dropped off the face of the earth now for a while. Life has rather sucked for me lately, my 3 year relationship has ended (instead of ending in marriage as I had hoped) I was the one to end it and move out of the apartment I shared with my boyfriend, but it was one of th...

What's wrong with "no boys?!" I went to an all-women's college (Wellesley College) and just loved it! I was skeptical about the "no boys" thing myself but it was awesome- I would do it again in a hearbeat and if I have a daughter I would strongly urge her to a woman's college.......

Dale, my boyfriend and I were buying cars not too long ago, and we were looking at the echo. Its a great little car, but a corolla is much safer apparently, once we checked a few things out. You may be able to look around and get a few years old corolla for about the same price. The corrolla is also...

Thank you all for the warm, kind words of support- I really really appreciate it. I am going to try and go tommorrow- mainly to get out. One can only read so much William James all weekend before you go crazy. I figure I will just take my whistles and sit quietly near the players. I hope to meet som...

need help making a decision

Okay- I have been absent from the board for a long time now- that's because well life got in the way. Last spring on the day of my graduation from Harvard, my partner's father died of a sudden heart attack. Soon afterwards we moved down to North Carolina in anticipation of my starting my PhD at Duke...

Hurricane or no hurricane, Duke University refused to close yesterday (they ended up having to close in the evening). Anyway I went in for classes, but by noon things were going downhill, so I left and drove home in some driving rain and wind. Got home to find my partner and dog curled up on the cou...

(ot) a new member of the family

Today my partner Jack and I, went to the shelter and adopted an adorable new puppy. She's 3 months old, her mom was a beagle, and no one knows what her dad was. She's actually very small- a teeny tiny thing, looks like (hopefully) she'll get no bigger then 25 lbs. We are naming her Star (she's all b...

Thanks Riseard for the info on the Pinecone session... and thanks all of you for your advice... As for the two fish tanks- I would actually like to go with one large tank, but with the semi-transient student lifestyle, I find moving a 5 gallon preferable to moving a 30 gallon (still rough though- th...

I remember my first big quake- It was a 6.1 and My town was the epicenter- I was 7 years old and on the schoolbus when it began to bounce, and I mean bounce.. we just ...
