I've used Barge Original all purpose Cement for glueing leather to wood for making bellows.After 5 years the bellows are still airtight.I've also used the same stuff for glueing Naugahyde(vinyl?)to make a uilleann pipe bag.Worked great.Don't know about rubber as I've never tried it.

I don't envy you guys having to learn the pipes in such a harsh climate ,when you have to live in igloos and drive around on dog sleds all the time.Must be tough.

I don't know if they are still around,but there was a piper in Medicine Hat and also Calgary.Don't know any names though.

PJ,when I was playing in a highland pipe band we used Korg ca-30 tuners with a Korg cm-100 mike plugged into the tuner and clipped to the drones.I've never tried it on the uilleanns,

michele,make some reeds without gouging the tail,then make some with just a small amount of tail-gouge.It is possible that you are gouging too much from the tail.

It's my birthday today and my reeds can't get much worse so I may as well start fiddling with them.Maybe they will improve.I think I'll start with one of yours first PJ.
