Susato tweaks

I bought a Bb S bore Susato this week end, and I find it oeral excelent except for one thing : the bell note is unstable with a very weak volume; It also needs much less air that the upper notes which is very annoying. I was wondering if some of you guys noticed this issue and if there was a tweak t...

Yes, now that you say it, the fipple is an O'Riordan fipple.
What is the advantage of changing the body on an O'Riordan whistle ? If I had one of those, I wouldn't dare changing anything on it.

Which whistle is played on this video ?

Can one of you guys tell me which whistle Ryan Duns plays on that video ?

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=04ETh4UXTOg

There are some pretty good views in the middle of the video.
It's tunable and looks like a Sindt with a longer black fipple, but I can't find which one it is.

Whistle shop in London ?

Hello guys, A friend of mine is going to spend next week in London, and he would like to bring back a couple of whistles. Can some of you indicate me some whistle shops in London which would have a good choice of whistles, I mean more than the classicals Generations or Feadogs that we can find quite...

:o :o :o I personnally woudn't give it a try. There are often some delrin or wooden parts in the fipple area than could suffer from the soap and heat. And maybe the brass could also be damaged by some chemical products used in the dishwasher. I clean mine by hand with products designed to polish bra...

I bought one last weak and it was also sounding scratchy. I tried the head on a Gen body and it was far better. So I inspected thouroughly the feadog pro body and noticed that the tone holes were VERY rough. I sanded their angles (inside and outside the tube) with very fine sand paper and then polis...

And yes I have made price adjustments on all of my high whistles as of two weeks ago as a result of increased brass prices and to bring them inline with the competition. Ronaldo www.reyburnwhistles.com Ouch! That's a big jump -- but I do have to admit that just puts your whistles in the Burke price...

I agree : no need to tweak a sweetone. They all play good as they are.

Moving the head will allow to to tune it, to change it's pitch. That's important if you play with another instrument that both instruments have the same pitch.

It really depends of your tastes. From my point of view and related with my tastes : I enjoy playing slow airs, and I find that a pure tone is far better for slow airs. But concerning the few jigs or reels that I play, I prefer to have a more complex sound. As a result, I play slow airs on my Burke ...
