Dixon Whistles

I've watched and played Tony's whistles since he started off with the D polymer. I have several types in most keys. My Favourite is my Ally body Polymer head Tuneable Eb. It has an amazingly rich sound. He's a great guy, reliable and will put himself out to help anybody who is having problems. He ma...

New Dixon Whistle

I got one today from Tony and am delighted with it. It's nice and light and have had to go look for the 3rd Octave fingerings as mine went up cleanly to 3rd G! Nice and easy to blow and as my friend said. Easy enough to pop down your sock when out of the house. Not a harsh brassy sound either. selki...

I've had a lot of problems as well similar to yours. I downloaded Cool Edit Pro which has the means to eliminate hissing clicks and pops and it made a vast difference. Then The puter had to be upgraded and my mike level became too low. I had been in contact with Yamaha as i replaced my Creative soun...

Hi Geordie Flute. I went to 3 of Claire Mann's workshops and were you in the afternoon class on Monday when Lillias Kinsman-Blake came along? Claire has the Wilkes Flute and Lillias has a Silver flute but has had a Ebonite headjoint made for for hers. It was a great treat as I haven't been able to w...

Thanks very much. I'd rather the whistles went to somebody who will play them and I find it sad to see them and not play them. Selling them means that I will be able to eventually get more modifications to my flute and I can cope with the angle of the flute better. :)

Tony Dixon

Tony has been brilliant with also adapting whistles for me. I have the Eflat Ally body with an extended special headjoint and it has a wonderful sound. It needs a little more breath but I can play it well. I bought my daughter the D ally and it's super and actually goes up above high D so she can al...

Elfsong D whistle with 3 bodies - ebay.

Reluctantly I have been selling some of the instruments my arthritis and shoulder repair has stopped me from playing. This is a D whistle with three bodies with the fingering holes different sizes and places. It meant that I could play anytime. Now I have more physical problems and am sticking to an...

It's actually the shape that will make it easier to play. I can get my left thumb around the recorder but not around the Clarkes as it is too thin. The tweaked Generation Eb Jerry Freeman gave me I can use Blue tack on the right thumb and as it's in a different key it's working for short periods but...

Wooden Recorder like whistle

Has anybody seen a cheap wooden version of a whistle in D anywhere. My daughter bought one in France but had to sell it. Basically I have been listening to Jean Duval and his set of suites for a one handed whistle and think it would be easier for me to hold than mine. The shape is better for stabili...

Thank you Jerry Freeman.

I had posted that I would have to have extensive surgery on my right shoulder and would be unable to play either my whistles on my flute for quite a while. I had asked about E flat whistles as the band music could be played on an E flat .Jerry Freeman e-mailed me and said he would send me a tweeked ...
