Re: Tool for removing accompaniment on recordings

TBH I dont know how it works, I didnt write it! It was developer by Dan Barry from the Audio Research Group. I know he has published papers on the algorithm, so Im sure you could look it up. It was licensed by Sony a few years ago for use in the Sing Star game to mute the singing from recordings. It...

Re: Android apps for musicians

I have major plans for Tunepal this year to make it the all singing and dancing app for trad musicians :-) BTW I love my Android phone and they are really nice platform to develop for. While I like the iPhone too, I found the SDK, language and tools have a big learning curve and I feel much more pro...

Re: Tunepal update

Hmmm I dont have that CD, but I'll pick it up tomorrow. What track was it? What key were they playing in? Dont forget that if they are not playing in concert pitch, you should change the "Transcription Fundamental" in Tunepal. I'm working on various solutions for transposition invarient ma...

Re: Tunepal for Android - Buy it now

I also just switched from an iPhone 3G to a HTC Desire and wow! What a machine it is - so fast and it seems to do everything. I just drove from Drumshanbo to Galway using the Navigation app. Love it! The ABC editing thing is actually straightforward as in fact I do generate the MIDI on the device - ...

Re: Tunepal for Android - Buy it now

And it's now on the Android marketplace too! As a result of the article in the Irish Times last Friday: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/finance/2010/0716/1224274815780.html Tunepal was listed (briefly) in the top 25 grossing apps on the iTunes App store - though it's down to 49th place now :-) S...

Re: After forty years playing this music....

BTW Did I mention, I am working on an Android version. I have "issues" with Apple. Also tunepal.org looks much nicer on Windows becaue Apple only supports an out fo date version of the Java runtime. It was a bitch to even make it work on a mac at all. When Im back I will do a bit of work t...

Thanks for all the comments positive and negative about Tunepal. A few thoughts of my own on the subject: I put a...
