As long as it has a rounded windway or is of the under $10 construction I'm ok. Otherwise I'll clog it like crazy.

Shipping to Canada

I recently sent a whistle to Canada in a trade. Actually, recently isn't the right word because it has now been over two weeks since it was sent. USPS told me they can't track anything outside of the country. Has anyone had similar experiences with shipping to Canada and know how long I might expect...

Apparently Brian Finnegan is about to do some work with the group LAU, who already make great music. The new group with Finnegan and a few others should be really cool.

Hey Lori, Susato's are great whistles in the long term, but not so much at the beginning. They can be very hard to control for someone just starting out on whistle. My recommendation for a great whistle to start playing on at a similar cost would be a Jerry Freeman Tweaked Mellow Dog, which can be f...

I've also had the opportunity to play the full range of Water Weasels with the exception of the low F. They are all great, the Bb a very notable one, but the low G is the most fun whistle I've ever played.

Huge favor anyone?

I don't know if anyone will be able to help me, but I figure I'll at least try. At the end of the year all the seniors in my orchestra get to play a senior solo where you pick the music and instrumentation. I'm trying to perform the Level Plain as played by Joannie Madden with piano and bass accompa...

That Lord of the Rings was the first thing I figured out too! And look where I am now..... just kidding. But for real, just start listening to the tunes, and getting some music. After I learned the LOTR song the first Irish tune I leanred was Road to Lisdoonvarna. You can find it here: http://...

Go with Guido's instructions.

The thing about those is that Guido himself is a true gentleman and has answered questions for me that I've had about his directions. He will also make you one of his whistles for a very, very low cost. They're actually good whistles too.

but I think I may have to fill the fipple in order to make playing the upper octave easier. Never mind me because I never found any benefit in it but isn't filling usually recommended to strengthen the low notes? Or is it really what I think it is, that little black magic, the placebo that does wha...

I dont like the things either. I just played mine today and it made me mad. I like Generations as far as cheap whistles go.
