It's such a nice surprise when that happens. A while back I traded some whistles with David O'Brien and he threw in one of his Traveler D's as a gift. Great guy as well.

They are ultra loud! I wouldn't describe the tone as chiffy really, I'd say they're more complex and harmonically rich.

I had a Sweetheart Pro D in dymanwood for a while and it was great. I'd highly recommend one to you. They are very loud though. I like that characteristic in whistles but I know some people do not.

I don't like the session very much because the music never comes out well when you try to print it. Tinwhistler.com is awesome though.

Drowsy Maggie will do that to you. Dropping from a high D to the low E is pretty tough. When I play this with my fiddle player friend I let him take the A part and join him on the B

Chieftain Golds have do a very strong bell note. The only thing I don't like about them is the extent to which the C# is flattened to improve overall tuning.
