breath
I started with playing flute some weeks ago (Dekeyzer in D)
I play already a while tin and low whistle.
I've just a small question: do you need more breath for a flute than for a (low) whistle, are is it just my fault?
Thanks for reactions![smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile_144.gif)

What is your favourite type of tuning slide?
Don't know how to describe the 'types', but i try:
Something like Syn or MK whistles? (alu with brass part)
Kerrypro with cork grease?
Alba with Tefnol tape?
Dixon alike tuning slide?
...
And why is it your favourite 'type'?

I understand some things you want to say (Peter etc.) But i don't know that you really understand what i want to say. And i don't understand anymore very clear what i want to say . Maybe this helps (but this has more to do with tuning in general) If you give all your (newbie) pupils different w...

Frederik you're utterly on the wrong track. C natural will depend on the player for it's intonation and I think you'll find you rarely will want an equal tempered one. But if and when you do the way you play the C will determine whether or not you'll get one. Yes i know, breath pressure will 'make'...

Do you really test your whistles against a tuner? I mean really? Yes really. Yes i mean really. What good is that for anybody when the real test should be with your ear! Every single note of a tune has to be adjusted on-the-go and you need your ear, especially if you play with other ears. It's all ...
