Re: Aulos Stanesby Flute
I am no expert but am working on playing baroque flutes (I own a couple of 3D printed flutes from Jeff Wulf). For the forked finger Fnat try blowing a bit more softly and image pronouncing the sound 'ang'. That's from Doretthe Janssens' book, "New !Method for the Traverso"

FS Silverwood Flute. Boxwood & Silver
I am reluctantly letting go of my Silverwood Flute made by Tony Millard and Sophie Matthews. I have had it for only few months and really enjoy it but have drifted to the dark side & am getting a baroque flute. This flute has a tuneable boxwood head combined with a silver aluminium body to give ...

Re: Thumb hole in Burke whistles
I have one of Joseph Morneaux's "drop C" whistles with C & Fnat thumbholes along with a 7th hole below the low D for C. It definitely is a whistle, not a recorder. For example, you do not half hole the thumbhole to reach the 2nd octave like a recorder. I am still getting used to it, bu...

Re: A selfish beginner flute. F or G?
Having had both Sweetheart G & F flutes (which I sadly sold) my opinion is that the F was easier to play, more pleasing to hear and missed the most.

Re: Modifying tin whistle for pipe training
Elf Song whistles make whilstles with GHP fingering and whistles using the Galician fingering system utilizing a left hand thumb hole as well as a 7th hole for the right hand pinky. I have one of the latter if you may be interested.
