CORRECTION:

The measurements between tone-holes are:


D hole to E hole- 28mm
E hole to F# hole - 23 mm

G hole to A hole -28 mm
A hole to B hole - 31 mm

It's a low A. It's in perfect condition. The headjoint is blackwood, the lower joints are mopane. Has a synthetic pouch.

I'll sell it for less than 2/3 of the price of a new one. That's USD 600.

The Olwell flutes are amongst the best in the world. Naturally it plays beautifully. I bought it in E flat, but nobody in my country plays in E flat, so it doesn't get used. I'm told he no longer makes the bamboo ones, so they'll get scarcer and scarcer. I'll let this one go for half of the original...

Whole different feel. A friend of mine says mine sounds like a kaval, and he loves Balkan stuff. It does indeed work well for the less complex Bulgarian tunes

Paddy always carried a whistle around with him, even in non-trad music situations.

He'd whip it out at a function, and surprise and charm everyone. Not many of us could get away with that. I've tried. And failed !!
