Re: Good (and affordable) aluminum low D whistle?
I have an Overton made by Collin Goldie in low D, which is a very good whistle. If you are able to swing it Goldies are among the best whistles and worth it over the long term. For example, I bought mine in 2003 and still have it to this day. I think I paid around $300 at the time and if you conside...

Re: Who played it best: May morning Dew
I'm still not sure I can say who played it best but after watching them all a couple times more, I have some thoughts. Davy Spillane is perhaps the most expressive. He has some really long notes he plays. He either has incredible lung capacity or he is employing circular breathing or both. For that ...

Who played it best: May morning Dew
I can't get enough of this song on whistle. There are four versions of it that I know about. I'm not sure who I think plays it best. Amazing song in all cases. Help me decide. Re: Best mellow, easily in-tune high D whistle?
I'll second the Dixon in polymer. Good mellow sound and comparably good playing qualities compared to other inexpensive whistles. It's tunable to boot. If you are looking at higher quality, I have a A. Karavaev whistle that I think has good playing quality in F with the polymer head and aluminum bod...

I agree, CutiePie has done a lot for whistles with her Youtube channel.

Introducing Myself, New to the Forum
Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like to introduce myself, I have been playing low whistle since 2003 when I purchased an Overton low D made by Collin Goldie. This was before he labeled them as his own. Excellent whistle in my opinion. I also own a Karavaev Nightingale whistle in F, a Dixon hig...
