Sorry I missed your post! The store is called "Southwest Music" and it's located on Menaul, just west of San Mateo by a Schlotsky's deli. North side of the street.

I don't know if it's a western obsession with using finger tips... I just didn't know the piper's grip actually existed. And it's a lot better.

welcome to the land of happy fifers and flutists. i would assume you can play any key with just about any flute... after all, there are ways to play all the sharps and flats and all the notes of the scale, it would just be played differently on a D flute than a G flute or a C flute.

There are other discrepancies like size and pattern, too... *sigh* I shall have to see how much people are going to pay for it.

Hmmm, octave. Eight. Wait, let's try this again . . . :-? (Missed you, Tal. Where you been?) Octave is 8 notes. The last note is the repeat of the first, and though it starts the next octave, it is also considered the last note of the previous octave. Circular pattern of music, I suppose.
