Re: Online lessons??
Thanks to all for suggestions. As I continue to search the web I find an incredible amount of teaching videos and music written in whistle tab. I think I will stay very busy for quite a while. I agree that the price of the tuition mentioned is inexpensive compared to live lessons. I do like the way ...

Re: Online lessons??
I just noticed it is $19.95 for every 28 days. It sounds a little pricey.(at least for me) I think there's probably plenty of lessons which can be viewed free online.

Online lessons??
I just wondered what folks here think abount online lessons. I am particularly interested in anyone's opinion of OAIM program. I found a sample on youtube of a lesson on playing the Rattlin' Bog. I found this lesson to be very helpful. If I sign up I can get a few free lessons or it is $19.95 for th...

Re: Why do whistles sound different at night?
I think I have found my problem. I tend to switch whistles every song or so and evidently my whistles never warmed up properly at night. I stuck with the same whistle and after three songs or so the problem disappeared. I think I must be a slow learner.

Re: Why do whistles sound different at night?
This is purely conjecture on my part, but I'm going to suggest that stress could be the cause. When I was working, I found that I played all my instruments MUCH better on weekends and holidays than I did at night, when I tended to be more tense and less creative. And morning has always been my most...

Re: Here's Cynthia, in China, playing ...
Jerry, thanks for posting this. I was unfamiliar with this tune but I really like it and it was relatively easy to learn I will never be able to play it as well as Cynthia but I really enjoy playing it.

Why do whistles sound different at night?
I have hesitated to ask this question because I will probably be viewed as a lunatic. But here it is. Why do whistles play differently at night as opposed to day? All my whistles play clearly and purely during the day. They all get a sqeak or squeal at night. I know this can't happen to everyone or ...

Re: CP: Becker Whistle Website
I received my high D whistle today. I am really pleased with it. The appearance and workmanship is much better than I expected for the price. The whistle I received is relatively quiet with just a hint of chiff. It is a very nice playing whistle and is perfectly tuned. I am going to order another in...

Re: info about bodhran
I think I need to correct my request. I have been playing whistles(poorly) for a few years and thought a bodhran might be fun to have. I think I overstated what I was looking for as far as quality goes. I'm not going to be in a band, I just wanted something better than a child's toy. It'll probably ...

info about bodhran
I don't know what forum this should be in ,so moderators feel free to move it if necessary. I am wanting information about bodhrans. How much would someone expect to pay for one of good enough quality to play in a group or session. Also, are there brands which are preferred? I assume there are learn...

Re: Burke Low G on eBay. Opinions?
I find it strange that you think m***6 is a shill or that he "likes" bidding up auctions. I have bought and sold on ebay (mostly buy) for many years. It isn't at all strange that someone with zero feedback bids on an item over $100. I have sold items with bids much higher than that from bi...

Re: Burke Low G on eBay. Opinions?
I think there are only eight bidders. I don't see evidence of shill bidding
