John Joe
Thanks for the confirmation on how well John Joe is considered. I have listended to his solo on the Kerry site and it is unbelievable that someone can get that kind of sound and rythym on a single drum. Of course, the rest of the group is great too. I watch Finnigan a lot due to his lead on the whis...

Flook
Thanks for the update. I will wave the "Best Group" title at my wife who was not sure she wanted to go with me to their concert in Kansas March 16th. She is not a music person - except for Andy Williams. She likes him, but as I told her he isn't coming to Kansas this year and can't whistle...

Don't forget
Keep the whistle warm. >>> Put the whistle in your pocket between tunes, Paul - you forgot to add "Don't forget to take it out of your pocket before you sit down. Yeow! Yes -I did it. Luckily it was not a Busman (Highly treasured), but an O'Brien (Still treasured) C bottom that I had taken out...

Freeman "Tweaked"
After getiing into playing whistles I bet you will keep coing back to your Freeman Tweaked whistles. I have been in the "hobby" for a little over the past year. I have accumulated some fine Busman wooden whistles simply beacuse I love their look and feel. They play well and sound wonderful...

Sounds like you had a good time Keith. I know what you mean about being isolated. We are about 2 1/2 Hours from Kansas City. There are few opportunites to hear Irish musicians where I am. However, I am very excited that March 16th, Flook (with Karan Casey)will be here at Kansas State in Manhatten, K...

Thanks
Well, I had the right answer but was one of the remaining 49. I'm glad it went to a deserving student! But thanks for having this contest anyway. Great music. I'm even trying to rent the Mission thru the local DVD rental places. I've seen it maybe three times on broadcast TV - I saw it before gettin...

Of course, you could always develop an addiction to light maple as I have done.
It's an addiction I like.

My most beautiful Whistles
Well for me it has to be wood. Nothing I know of masters the feel, the look, and the sound even for such a poor player like me. My wood whistles happen to be all Busman. I prefer figure, grain and that "look" to a plain wood. Paul offers a tremendous palette of wood. My first was from Byll...

Re: Did You Ever Get a Tune in Your Head......
...that you can't stop humming, whistling or otherwise turning over and over between your ears? . Yes - I have. But I was thinking my biggest problem since I only play by ear are the tunes I "thinK' I know but just can't bring back into my head. When that happens the only tune that comes "...

Tiger Maple
Here is a photo of the new Tiger Maple taken by Paul prior to shipment. It's even prettier as it is turned in the light. Really looks like a Tiger tail! Here is the photo link - I hope this works. It is the one Paul is holding up to the light. Paul - thanks for letting me post your photo. I am great...
