Re: Game of Thrones
Doesn't anyone else have a public library where you can borrow entire seasons with a library card, which only requires your name & address? I wasn't interested in Game of Thrones when it started but my grown children raved about it so much I looked for it at my local library. Now I have caught u...

Re: Which High D?
Are you completely locked in to a high D? I've owned many inexpensive and a few high priced high D's, but even my favorite Burke sometimes annoys me on the upper octave. It's a perfectly fine whistle, it's just the nature of the beast (any high D) to be beyond my sensitivities at times. Since your m...

Re: The manners of opening doors
A very tricky question. A lot depends on any infirmity and also who is nearest to the door. Around here, I find lots of people of both sexes hold the door open, after they have gone through, as a courtesy to not let it shut, but only if your are very near (within a yard or so), and regardless of sex...

Oh, and don't even get me started about that "recalculating" crap.

Re: I have a GPS
I have a GPS with which I was happy, given that I'm a semi-techy type. I like to have and experiment with new stuff, within my limited budget. But last year my less than two yr old GPS started announcing it had outdated maps, the cost of which would be more than my original expense. Since then, I've...

Re: Favorite digital recorder???
It's been a few years since I bought the Zoom, but my main reason for paying the higher price was the multiple track feature that the other recording machines did not offer. The Zoom has way more tricks than I need, and that made it more confusing. But being able to record myself, by myself, with di...

Re: SO disappointed... any tips?
Just get a Dixon, or other quality pvc type whistle. No warm up needed, not excessively expensive, and noob (and non-noob) friendly.

Re: What do you like best about where you live?
I live in a very rural community, VERY rural. And at the end of a dead end road. The only people who find my driveway either know me or are hopelessly lost. My nearest neighbor is my brother, and I can only see lights from his windows in the winter when the trees are bare. Other than that, I see no ...

FT: Susato low A for Tony Dixon A
I have a hardly used, like new, Susato low A whistle that I would like to trade for a similar Tony Dixon low A. Straight up trade, including shipping costs within the USA.

Re: Do you pay attention to the lyrics of songs?
As a singer (but I also play), I'm obviously obsessed with lyrics. I will do hours of research to come up with the best possible (personal) version of a traditional song, cause yanno, you can only get away with a minimal number of verses. Audiences and musicians seem to have a low tolerance for mult...

Re: Clarke Sweetone
Regular Clarke Sweetones are good enough for the money. I've got three, two standard Ds and one tweaked by Freeman. At first, I really enjoyed them. After a few months of playing it seems I now prefer straight bores. Still, you don't know what you like until you try something. God bless inexpensive...

Re: Clarke Sweetone
Years ago, I already owned several low-priced whistles and had heard of Sweetone's notoriety of being out of tune with itself. Knowing that, I still succumbed next time I was in a music store. I figured it was akin to buying a lottery ticket (which I never do, so right there was another excuse to in...
