If anyone can take a Tipple flute into a cave and make it sing, it's Michael. The potential for cool sound effects boggles the mind

Re: Flute for Beginner: Dixon 3-piece or Tipple?
So, what do you guys think? Dixon 3 piece or Tipple? :) At the risk of entering the fray, I'll say as a fairly recent noob myself I started on a Tipple and have since purchased much more expensive instruments. I've also owned and played Dixon 3 piece flutes, and liked them as well. I agree with you...

Re: Peterson Strobe Tuner and Amazing Slow Downer for iPhone
Thanks for the post. I was looking for a solid tuner and music slow downer for my iPhone.
Another useful iPhone app is TradTunes, which contains ~4,000 tunes in ABC format. No notation viewer as yet, but reading ABC isn't too hard once you get used to it.

Re: Photo of your string instrument
Here is my 1921 made by Karl Muller in Germany. It has a dark, rich tone that when played by a talented fiddler (not I) sounds great.

FS: Michael Copeland Keyless
I've got a new Michael Copeland Keyless for sale which I purchased this year from Doc Jones at the Irish Flute Store. It's a beautiful instrument that plays well, but I just haven't been able to play it much due to arthritis and can't see it sitting around collecting dust. It has been well oiled and...

Re: Generation ?
I bought two Generation D's last week.they buzz and sweak terrible. Is there a fix for them? My Jerry Freeman squeaked, er, tweaked, Gen D is my current favorite whistle. If you search for his posts on tweaking he gives away all of his deepest, darkest, tweaking secrets for free. Shhhh. Don't tell a...

Hi Bill, I have been looking for whistle lessons in the Atlanta area. I have a Susato high D whistle and a low D whistle. I struggle a bit with the low D and I'd like some pointers. Any chance of a lesson? Or should I wander into Meehan's sometime? J Slow sessions are at the Harp on Holcomb Bridge ...

Re: Q from Kansas on taking up the tina
I recently went to a combined concert with Flook and Mary Kasey. The accordian/concertina player was Niall Vallely. I was not prepared to be impressed. But it happended anyway, and after being literally "wowed" by Flook the hour before. I guess my question is this: Can I, and if yes - how...
