Re: Getting to G minor

Since you have a background i swedish music, do you live in sweden? If so, I have a 8-key flute that I don't use that you can try out and buy if it suits you. It's in Cocus-wood with german silver keys. Gm will not be a problem, and it is my favorite key as well, being a swedish fiddle player.

Hello!

Looks like a really lovely set! Regarding the keys of the chanters, the biggest one, isn't it C/F-chanter?

Re: Harmonica Question: Paddy-Richter vs. Solo Tuned for Irish?

Hi I really like Paddy Richter, my favourite is a G Marine band that i retuned myself, it's actually very easy! I also have two suzuki promaster that i bought from Brendan Power, but i like the warmth from the Marine band. When i started to play harmonica i played a C chromatic, and then got a G chr...

Re: Seth Gallagher's pipes?

I play with Robert in Gothenburg (previously mentioned) and his pipes are seems really steady regardless of season and weather, and I don't think he needs to make much adjustments of them at all. To me as a fiddle player i like the sound of them too!

Thanks for your replies! I have been thinking of trying do some repair work from time to time, but this one seemed a bit to nice to practice on :-) so far I have only replaced head corks and glued a crack coming from a partial lining in my Chinese dizi. But I guess I could have sent it to you Jon fo...

Monzani auktion

I found this auction for a Monzani on the Swedish version of ebay, it went for $390. It's not very often wooden flutes show up in auctions in sweden, but this price seemed a bit high to me considering the condition with two keys missing/broken and the cracks. Any thoughts? http://www.tradera.com/Ant...

Hi I tried the low G wen I saw Colin in Belgium some week ago, It is really big, but I could manage the finger stretch, as long as I didn't put the fipple in my mouth... I guess it's a lovely intrument for duets :-), or I would need a piece of garden hose or someting. The sound was really nice /Anders

I play a vintage Clementi (late 1830ies I think), and I use all the keys. I think all keys sounds nice even if the C# i much easier to hit than the low C, but that might be a matter for adjustment. The pewters are not perfectly air-tight if I don't put some grease on them, but if I do that they some...

If it's just slightly bent, its no problem when it is in the direction explained, if it had been the other direction it might be a problem since the direction of the force pu on the bow should be aimed towards the feet of the bridge. I think the bowmakers usually make them slightly bent in the "...

Hello! I saw some of Alban Faust's whistles some year ago, but I didn't play them. They were beautifully made, he really makes high quality instruments! I have bagpipes mede by him and they have really nice intonation, and he likes to use drones in his music, so I would guess that the whisltes are i...
