Re: What's new in whistles?

Looking forward to hearing more MadManWithaWhistle!

As for me, I have a couple of Generations coming my way (a brass D and Aurora). I've also ordered a Feadog C. Super excited!

Re: What's new in whistles?

I have a Generation brass D on the way and one of the pretty Generation Auroras--couldn't help myself. Another low cost whistle to look at is the Clare. The easiest way to order one is through eBay (they have a store presence). I have a two-piece Clare that is pretty good. YMMV, but I find the Feado...

Re: Derry/Londonderry Tunes

I can't help you, but what an interesting idea. My 3rd or 4th great-grandfather, Thomas O'Donnell, came to the U.S. from County Donegal.

Re: What's new in whistles?

I dont have one but Killarney look and sound wonderful, so if you were looking to add something nice and shiny with a higher price tag to your whistle stash, could be a great option. I also like my dixon d trad, is only a tad more expensive than generations and stuff. Wow, the Killarney are really ...

Re: What's new in whistles?

Two of the best cheap whistles in my experience, are the Waltons Mellow D (I don't like the little black one, but maybe I was just unlucky with my specimen) and the Oak. I think the Oak is different enough from the Acorn to try one, even if you already had an Acorn. AFAIK they are from the same com...

What's new in whistles?

Hi all, I used to post here a long time ago and now I'm back. :D I used to have 10ish whistles, but after a couple of moves, it appears I'm down to two: a Clarke Meg D and a Generation nickel Bb. (both purchased pre-2005) Of course I can't only have two whistles, so I'm in the market for more. I use...

I've yelled at my parents for not pushing me into music when I was a kid... but I'm only 21 now, there's still time. Mine did push...it was by virtue of my own underachieving lazy nature that I resisted and didn't practice...Best get those neuronal connections hardwired in before it's too late! My ...

Fast loading. Snappy. Black. It has a large letter. It's chic-ly minimalistic. I love it.

I don't follow baseball...but I'm glad the world series is over. I work with two people from Boston and I was really getting tired of hearing that sing-songy "Let's go Red Sox" followed by the clap, clap, clap clap clap. I heard it about three times an hour for weeks. :o

I live in far north Texas (sandwiched in between New Mexico, Oklahoma and more Oklahoma) and they are predicting a long cold wet winter here. It has been relatively mild in recent years, but due to global warming, El Nino, or whatever, it's supposed to get pretty bad. Our problem is wind. Even if it...

I'm afraid I did not check with enough haste, and this strange mossy little girl crawled out of my computer screen and chased me around the room. Fortunately, she was placated by an offer of my Clarke D, which I rarely use, and crawled back to whencever she came. I promise to look later. That's fre...

I don't like my Sweetone C either, so I never play it. I'll have to try the D. On the other hand, I love my $2 Meg D. It rocks!

Halloween Costumes

I need a creative, but cheap Halloween costume. How are you guys going to dress up for this spooky holiday?
