So I got this one, and I'm pleased with it.
I was on the lookout for a chanter with the C key. My Kenneth McNicholl 3D printed chanter has it, but it's very loud, too loud to practice with where I live.

Re: Lawrence v Hunter

Yes, he still calls the pipemaking business "Hunter Pipes." He says the following on his website: "I still broadly make to his designs, though I redid the regulator designs and still tweak elsewhere when I feel it is needed."

Re: Is Kelleher Traditional LTD out of business?

This is most unfortunate as I had planned to eventually get a Kelleher Trad bellows to put together a practice set, but never got around to it. There are a few pipemakers out there who use Kelleher Trad bags and bellows exclusively, instead of making their own. I wonder if Kelleher will still be pro...

Re: What is the History of Pakistani Uilleann pipes?

A bit late to the discussion, as I haven't been on this site much in the last year or so... But it is interesting to note that in the mid-1990s, An Píobaire was running adverts for a seller in County Down known as "Clan Uladh." They listed half sets including carrying case for £550. "...

Re: Looking for BAGPIPE

That ebay listing is for a mid-east made item. And the other one looks like something from the same manufacturer. So you would likely run into the issues I mentioned above. It's better to go with something from a reputable pipe maker, even if you have to spend more or wait some time for the pipes to...

Re: Looking for BAGPIPE

Just a heads' up in general... with the whole bagpipe family of instruments, you generally want to steer away from "cheap manufacturers." Specifically mid-east made instruments. It's been reported time and time again that they simply don't function properly, have leaky bags, are impossible...

Re: Cane drone reed supplier

Are you in the US? Ted Anderson in California comes to mind. You ship the drones to him, and he custom-makes the cane reeds especially to fit your drones. I'm not sure if he's in business these days; the website seems to be down. I can PM you his email address if you want.

Hello Andy, are you the same Andy Tennant who posted about pipemaking and reedmaking back in 2003? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15628&view=next

Great looking pipes in any case. Do you have any sound/video samples?

Re: Ebay Items

I'm not sure exactly what happened with that Ebay listing for the Seth Gallagher bass regulator from a left-handed set, but I noticed that it's listed for sale on reverb.com if anyone still wants it: https://reverb.com/item/37986051-uilleann-bagpipes-bass-regulator-key-of-d-seth-gallagher There's al...

Re: How old are your reeds?

The reed in my Dixon chanter is presumably the one that originally came with the set when the first owner acquired it around 2005 or 2006. But I have basically had to 'play it in' myself since the instrument was barely used at all before I obtained it a couple years ago.
