FS: Terry McGee Rudall Perfected

Selling my McGee! Keyless Blackwood Rudall Perfected, key of D, silver rings and tuning slide, half-lined head, integral foot. Beauty to hold, nice and light in the hands. Great, woodsy sound due to the half lined head, but nice and bright for ITM if you need it to be. Very sweet second octave. Exce...

Re: Chris Norman Flutes

Thanks for the history lesson! Knowing that he models it after his own flute makes me love it even more.

Anyone have a Martin Doyle?

I'm in SE Michigan, and I'd love to have a chance to try a Martin Doyle flute. Are there any Doyle players near me who'd be willing to get together to play? Or, are there any extra-generous folks out there who'd be willing to send me their flute to try for a few days? I'd be happy to cover postage, ...

Re: Chris Norman Flutes

I reluctantly sent both flutes back to Chris today, as I don't have the funds available. Did CN know went he sent out the flutes that you were just tire-kicking, or did you let him think you were a potential customer? He knew I was just expressing interest, and he was the one who offered to send th...

Re: Chris Norman Flutes

I just took the boxwood to a session last night (about 20 people, two pipers, and I sat next to a banjo) and I didn't have a problem with volume or tuning. Sure, my McGee Rudall Perfected in blackwood barked better, as did the Murray sitting next to me, but all-in-all the boxwood Norman held it's ow...

Re: Chris Norman Flutes

Just received them and had a chance to dig in this weekend. He sent me two all-wood D flutes, with long C foot. One is a stained boxwood, one is blackwood. Both are modeled after original small-holed Rudall Rose #742, c. 1826. Link to my photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Vd3SfrYaeNCexdJ03 My impress...

Re: Chris Norman Flutes

Well, curiosity got the best of me. (Curse you, Jim! )I messaged Chris for a pricing sheet...next thing you know, he's sending me two keyless, slideless all-wood flutes for trial. Both Rudall types, one blackwood, one boxwood. I currently have a McGee Rudall perfected, blackwood with an unline...

Southern Michigan flute players

I'm living in Southern Michigan these days, and I'd love to meet new flute players and try out instruments by different makers. I'm particularly interested in playing a Martin Doyle, and I play a McGee Rudall Perfected. Anyone near me interested in getting together to talk flutes and swap instrument...

There's a nice M&E polymer flute for sale on the UIE right now. Probably a decent place to start!

Re: [eBay] Olwell Pratten cocus 6K (the Birthday Flute!)

Why all the sighing? Does this flute come up on ebay all the time?
