instrument bags only for sale
Hi - I just started an Etsy store selling small, crocheted instrument bags for whistles, recorders, and flutes. Am I allowed to post that in a forum, and if so, which one? Thanks!

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
n my humble opinion, to get a robust sound in the low register and not have to blow like crazy in the sharp register, I would choose without hesitation the whistles from KUKUBEL (Vasc Country, SPAIN). The price fluctuates around 40€. Great sounding instruments, no questions about it. -KUKUBEL High ...

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
Thanks, all! I'm thinking seriously about Milligan & Kilarney, & will look up the ones you just mentioned. I appreciate the help! ...and I think I am starting to develop a whistle aquisition problem. ![wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink_144.gif)

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
Hello all! Everyone was so generous with their time & knowledge that I decided to ask one more question: Is it possible to get a whistle with a strong/loud lower register without the top of the second octave being extra loud & shrill? PS: I've decided to not buy a new whistle until I know mo...

I really appreciate all that info. What do you mean by "sharp bell note?"

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
Whistles are no different. The top note or two simply fall out of the nominal range for this tube size. You can adjust a bit with your airstream, but there is not the flexibility of a flute embouchure. Yes, but there is a HUGE difference between my Feadog or Oak and this new whistle. The new one is...

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
My Killarney has the nicest high A and B of any whistle I've tried. It is semi quiet, lowish air requirements, and is balanced between both octaves. $72 shipped to my door. That's what I'm looking for. I'll look more into the Killarney and a couple other whistles mentioned. My biggest problem is I ...

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
Oak and generation? Try this. http://www.killarneywhistle.com/ I saw that Kilarney whistle online! I almost ordered it! ...should have. I know it would be better than the one I got. Sticking with my Feadog until I find something better. I'll keep looking into all these links, though. I'll write the...

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
A couple more things... I'll check out those links, and may get to go to Dublin this summer. If so, I can actually TRY out some whistles!!! Where I live, I have to order anything I want to try. Perhaps it's worth a drive someplace that has a selection of whistles...? Also, when I say "technique...

Re: new whistle wanted, but what kind?
Thanks for all the info! It's obvious I was making some assumptions and not asking all the right questions. I'm a modern, Boehm system flute player, but dabble in Irish and Baroque flute. I found the subscribe button. :-) I also found my Feadog whistle that had been missing for several months. It's ...
