Hello there.... having ended up with the ebay D'Almaine from Olwell (via Jon) I'd be willing to give you odds that this Meacham is going to be a really nice player - how can you lose with a good pedigree and then going through Olwell's hands? I'd be a bidder if I wasn't now a pauper...

To me your playing sounds very good, Henke... what I'd expect from a lefty :) , but much better than mine. My only comments would be that the breathing spots could be varied a bit more and there were a couple of times that the playing possibly sounded a little rushed.... I thought your tone was quit...

Jon, that's a mouth watering flute, both visually, and playability I'm sure.... l'd guess it's up for about double the original price, given the fancy work -I've never had the chance to try a Wilkes pratten style, but I'll bet it sings - (sigh) - will be interesting to see what this goes for. Amen to Olwell's restoration of the d'almaine, sounds wonderful.... Jon, you need to do something about all those flutes you're accumulating... I'll help you out - did the ebay seller also let you know this one was actually made by Monty Hall, the game show host?

Good to see so many others here that I can relate to..... 56 this year, a few chronic diseases that surfaced at about 50 (mostly as result of my '60s smoke filled, care-free youth), and continuously amazed at the rapid flight of time. I guess I'm not alone in needing to keep employed forever either ...
