Netbook recommendations?
It's been a while since I've posted(a really really long time yikes! )so I hope you'll forgive me. Hello everyone! How've you been? Oh, and I have a off topic question that might tie in a bit to whistle playing. I'm thinking of getting a (computer) notebook but don't know where to start. I'v...

Re: Appropriate Indoor Temperatures
It depends where you live and how high utility bills are for your area. In New Jersey, we maintained a night temp of 68 and a day temp of 70 to 72 degrees because PSEG was reasonable in Jersey(and we heated our house with gas, which is usually cheaper than electric). Now, in New York, where we are F...

Re: The Sherlock Holmes Movie
I saw the trailer during "Family Guy" or "The Cleavland Show". It looks good but I find it odd to see American Actors playing these roles. I'm sure they do an adequate job at the accents . . . but I wonder if it bugs an english audience to watch these traditionally british roles ...

Re: Seeking US credit card recommendations
Hi Tansy, Interesting comment, could you share your reasons? The Discover More card looks pretty good.. Well, I've always had Visas . . . Bank of America has given me the best rate. As far as Discover goes, I've never had one because it's the one card most stores don't take. The big stores do but t...

I don't like the taste, either. Something about the texture. Even if it's not mashed, it too soft and sweet for me.MusicalADD wrote:For me it's the mashed squash. It just reminds me of the worst variety of baby food.
Pumpkin pie I will gladly consume, even the canned variety.

Re: Lipton tea
Lipton is the only tea my aunt drinks . . . as for me, I find Lipton too strong, too acidic, and far too high in caffeine. It makes great iced tea. I guess all the qualities I mentioned make it stand up to icing and dilution. It's not my favorite hot tea, although I won't refuse a cup of it. I prefe...

Re: Does anyone else have Fragrance Acquisition Disorder?
Oh, and patchouli is foul, evil, nasty, vile and disgusting. IMO. Patchouli is pungent as a stand alone fragrance, but it adds so much to blends. I went through a patchouli phase (everyone needs to experience the wild abandonment of wearing patchouli) but now it's a bit much . . . although I don't ...

Does anyone else have Fragrance Acquisition Disorder?
Just wondering if anyone on the board suffers from the same kind of uncontrolled spending of scented candles, fragrance oil and the various accessories that go with them. It's a good time of year for it . . . and it's cooling down enough to enjoy spice, pumpkin, leaves, cinnamon and cloves. It's jus...

Re: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving
I didn't realize that there was a Canadian Thanksgiving(akin to the American one) but I like the idea of celebrating it in October. Ours is simply a prelude to the Christmas season and almost has little value as a holiday. I work in retail and can't believe how early stores open on Black Friday and ...

I like my V series Susato very much . . . it's not too loud and the upper register doesn't make me cringe. It's a little touchy on the lower notes but that isn't too hard to get used to. It's has a nice, sweet tone.

Isn't NJ where they still pump gas for you? Yes. I miss New Jersey. :( sniff :( Anyhoo . . . I occasionally went to New Britain, PA to Bucks County Folk Music Shop http://www.bucksmusic.com. It's a great little shop and they don't mind customers trying the merchandise(at least they didn't have obje...
