Re: DIY Copper Pennywhistle with 3D Printed Mouthpiece

Thanks Trill! I will check protolabs out. Yeah, SolidWorks is my favorite. I used SW to develop this design. But my student license has since run out. I did use the free web version of Sketchup to square off the windway. The web version is extremely limited, but for that minor change it worked great...

Thank you pancelticpiper for the observation. That does make sense. Also, thank you txwhistler for the encouraging words! It is an exciting process. And those Tilburys are really unique! And thank you Tommy for shedding light on the unique design of the Tilbury whistles I will modify the design by a...

DIY Copper Pennywhistle with 3D Printed Mouthpiece

I recently finished a DIY copper pipe high D pennywhistle (pictures and recordings below) and wanted to talk about it (not a "for sale" post). The pipe is standard 5/8" copper pipe. I followed this tutorial https://www.copper.org/consumers/copperhome/DIY/cu_pennywhistle.html . And use...

I even prefer it to my Freeman Bluebird, even though that...

Introduction

Hello, all My name is Phillip, I'm from Middle Tennessee. I am a graduate student in mechanical engineering. I recently picked the tin whistle back up after many years. The fiddle/violin is my first instrument, which I picked up again recently as well. Like many people I'm working through the Clark ...

Re: Whistle recommendations please

Thank you all for your recommendations. I decided to purchase a Bluebird from Jerry Freeman. It has a very big following and above all seems to fit my criteria. Great Price too.

Now I just need to keep an eye out for a used Milligan. ;)

Whistle recommendations please

I lost my Syn whistle at a workshop not long ago and now realize sadly that it is never coming back. It is time for me to replace it and while it was a very wonderful whistle especially for a moderate beginner like myself there were a few things that I would like to change with my next whistle. I wo...
