Re: Music Theory for trad players

This guitarist, Joseph Carmichael, who I’ve had the pleasure of playing with a few times, and have heard back many fine musicians, obviously has some major theory going on. Not sure if there are any Bm7b5 chords in there or not... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZNpi0rfvtQZ3mTbJQav1HJ4q24kicyec/vie...

Re: Advice needed for a good all around Whistle

I would suggest a Freeman tweaked Generation B flat whistle. Very manageable and not shrill at all. When you move to the lower keys the game changes.

Gee, thanks. I was trying to fly that one in under the radar. Now you’ve gone and corrupted the youths.

Re: Hello

You say that you're hoping that these boards will sate the instrument acquisition drive for a while? :boggle: Good luck with that! Soon you'll be hoarding instruments like they were toilet paper.

Yeah, it seems like they have tried to blame a lot of people for that one, doesn’t it?

Re: Help with the Belfast polka, please

I’m finding that reducing it down to D>D ED|B>B cB etc makes it sound like ‘just another polka’ and in this case that’s obviously a good thing. I still might occasionally feel compelled to throw in the odd “tuddle-duddle” out of peer pressure, though.

Re: Help with the Belfast polka, please

Thanks Richard, I hadn't tried rolling the notes yet. I'm building up a small stock of other thing to vary and will add rolls to the list.
