Irish wire strung harp
Hello people, I've played irish flute for 20 years (Glenn Watson and John Gallagher flutes) and a bit of fiddle. I've lived in Prague for 6 years and my wife and I are moving to Valencia, Spain in January. I would like to purchase a Wire Strung Irish Harp made in the EU. I'm also seeking advice for ...

B-flat flute - do i want keys?
hello, i'm considering getting a b-flat flute, mostly for messing around and enjoying the low sound. should i get a key or two on it? if so, what keys have people found useful. don't play in a band anymore, am in prague now, having moved here 3 years ago. already have a couple of d flutes and a c fl...

Re: Mopane vs. African Blackwood
Love my mopane Casey Burns folk flute and mopane Glen Watson 4-keyed. Hard to tell the difference with blackwood (of which I've had several), I say go for it. Plus, in my view, mopane has a nicer appearance than blackwood.

Re: Question about Casey Burns folk flute
I bought the large-holed, 3-part version in mopane last year. loud as hell, easy to play, very nice flute. requires more air than the standard version (which i had before).

I don't see a vimeo link for shannon heaton. Just an irrelevant facebook link. Maybe I'm missing something here. Thanks. Jeff

Re: Learning Boehm Flute AFTER Having Played Irish Flute?
Chas, I get your point. But I don't have much interest in the traverso, with all its fingerings to get the accidentals. I want more volume, and I want the SOUND of the metal flute, which I love almost as much as the Irish wood sound. And I don't want to get too heavy into the Baroque (though I did m...

Learning Boehm Flute AFTER Having Played Irish Flute?
I've played Irish flute (Glenn Watson & Terry McGee flutes) for 15 years, and love it. However, I have a hankering to try my hand at playing a metal Boehm flute, just for fun, playing some baroque and japenese pieces that I like just for diversion. There's a Yamaha Yamaha 225S flute for sale in ...

Re: Help - Trying to Post JPG Photos
I've already loaded the jpg files on both flickr and smugmug, and have read the previous post a few years ago on loading photos. But when I right click, I don't get the "properties" option, only the "copy link" option.
