Re: Low-D-mania

Let me throw Löfgren in the ring. His low D is the only one i have kept.. Of course a purely subjective opinion but i'd say try a Löfgren or be sorry you didn't :) Oh, and also - don't paint yourself into a corner by avoiding whistles that takes getting used to, they often prove to be the keepers, v...

Re: Vintage Whistle Identification Help

My uncle had a pot metal one with a swastika logo (i know it's an ancient symbol) still it was a good laugh and referred to as the nazi whistle. It played somewhere between C and C# reasonably in tune with itself actually.

Re: Vintage Whistle Identification Help

In the late 60's (in Sweden) there was a small boom for Indian whistles, both metal and bamboo. This one looks like those of that era, crude holes and all.

Re: Question on Burke whistles

I wouldn't buy (another) Burke low G as the sound is very bland IMO, after selling the Burke i got a Overton Goldie that i liked much better, it had a bit too much back pressure for my taste though so i replaced it with a Löfgren. Haven't looked back (or elsewhere :) ) since. Of course it's the usua...

Did he use a tripod for support? :) I can only imagine what a copper flute would weigh..

FS: Tin whistles

I have rounded up some whistles i haven't played for ages, they're all perfectly sound, very good whistles, but i seem to have settled on my "go to" whistles, so these rarely get played, which is a shame. SOLD: Löfgren brass and blackwood key of D - €110 (they go for €164 new) https://dl.d...

Re: Freeman Generations where to get them in Europe?

I'm also curious about low F.. Already the G is what i feel one step to far using the Generation head. I do respect Jerry and his whistles, the Mellow Dog is a favorite, but the A and G .. well, not for me.
