Thanks much for your help, Rich. Although I never tried to log in during the outage, I'm my church's sound man, so I have some idea what headaches technology can cause.

So, the Opportunity rover is advanced enough to have a plutonium power supply, but it has a black and white camera? What's up with that?

Baking soda. Mix it up with water into a paste. It doesn't work as well as proprietary rust-removing products, but it works, and it shouldn't affect the paint or the plastic. I have a small Transformer toy that I am going to sell, but the toy has some severe rust on his face and chest (and on a couple screws), which of course I want to remove before selling it. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the rust without damaging the plastic/paint that it has spread onto?
