Re: Carbony Leading vs.Mezzo?

Thank you for the reply. I really wasn't sure which to order, but that is interesting, especially that most whistles don't come with the seventh hole. I would prefer one that plays more softly, and I think you're saying that possibly the one with the extra hole might do that.

Carbony Leading vs.Mezzo?

I am purchasing a Carbony A whistle, and I'm not sure whether to buy the Leading whistle, or the Mezzo version. I played a little several years ago, and I'm still very new at this. So I don't know that I need the seventh hole. I just wondered if anyone recommends one over the other, overall? Thank y...

Re: Question - M and E Ebonite Flutes

Thanks for all the informative replies, everyone. I really appreciate all your input. I think the flute in question is probably an Ebonite. :-)

Re: Question - M and E Ebonite Flutes

That's interesting about the smell - when I first got it (about 8 months ago), it did have a pretty strong smell. I guess that was the rubber? Like, would a new Polymer one "not" have a smell?

Question - M and E Ebonite Flutes

Does anyone have an M and E Ebonite flute with the threads on the joints, and not the cork joints? I am trying to determine if a particular flute is Ebonite or Polymer, and I used to think that all the Ebonite ones had cork joints. Is there any other good way to know for sure? Thanks in advance! Selling my George Ormiston keyless flute, Rudall, key of D. Flute is numbered #442, and comes with its original wooden case. I purchased this flute 8 months ago from the original owner. Re: Hobgoblin USA

I just purchased a Chieftain V3 Low D from Hobgoblin at the North Texas Irish Festival on March 6. It was pretty noisy at the festival (live bands playing all around), so it wasn't until I got home that I realized it played much quieter than I would prefer. So I called them about it & they were ...
